The Idea
Finding friends shouldn’t be about looks, profiles, or endless swiping.
It should be about who you are.
Instead of focusing on names, age, gender, or appearance, Ben connects students based on shared hobbies and interests. The goal is not to collect matches, but to create real connections — one at a time.
Why Ben?
Ben is not a dating app.
It’s a tool for building friendships with intention, respect, and simplicity. By slowing things down and removing visual judgment, Ben helps students focus on what really matters:
connection, honesty, and real human interaction.
How Ben Works
Ben intentionally limits choice to reduce pressure and encourage honest interaction.
• You can only have one match at a time
• Matches are created based on shared interests
• No judging, no swiping
• Just one connection and one clear decision
The Matching Process
Once matched, users can:
• Chat anonymously
• Get to know each other without expectations
• Decide independently whether they want to continue
• Each user can choose Yes (continue) or No (skip).
• The other person’s decision is only revealed once both have answered.
• If both say Yes, the match continues
• If one person says No, the match and chat disappear
• No chat history is ever saved
Time-Limited Interaction
To encourage real-life meetings, Ben works with clear time limits:
• Chat is available for up to two weeks
• If no action happens, the chat is automatically deleted
• Users are encouraged to arrange a meeting within this time
After meeting in real life, both users return to the app to make a final decision.
Becoming Friends
After the real-life meeting
• Both users independently decide:
• “Yes, it was great”
• “No, it didn’t work out”
Decisions remain hidden until both have answered.
• If both say Yes:
• The users become friends
• They are added to each other’s friend list
• The chat is permanently deleted to encourage real interaction
• If one says No:
• The match ends
• No data or chat history is saved
