Timberimp

The Forest is Watching

For hours, you have been wandering through the seemingly endless Timberwoods. Slowly, twilight descends upon the forest, casting long, eerie shadows across the dense foliage, and you still haven't found a single path leading back to safety. A chilling sense of dread washes over you as you stop in your tracks. Doesn't this twisted, ancient tree look familiar? Weren't you standing in this exact spot just an hour ago? The shadows in the undergrowth grow deeper and thicker by the minute, and the sun finally vanishes completely behind the dark horizon. A cold shiver runs down your spine. In the suffocating darkness, you suddenly remember the eerie tales told by the elders in the village. Whispered stories of woodcutters and travelers who ventured into these woods only to never be seen again. A sharp snapping sound violently jolts you out of your thoughts. Panic freezing your veins, you whip your head around, scanning your surroundings. However, the pitch-black night makes it practically impossible to recognize any distinct shapes. Then, a deafening dead silence settles over the forest. Did you just imagine that snap? Was it just a trick of your mind? Another crack, this time directly behind you, sends a wave of pure adrenaline through your body. You whirl around, raising your hands, and brace yourself for a fight. It is going to be a long, brutal night. Will you survive it?

Gameplay

Timberimp is an intense 2D top-down survival game where the player must endure a grueling 5-minute onslaught. Monsters rush at you from all directions, emerging from the depths of the haunted forest. Time is your biggest enemy: the longer the round lasts, the more monsters will spawn, increasing the difficulty. To make matters worse, the trees of the forest act as obstacles, restricting your movement and making survival a challenge. Navigate the treacherous terrain using the WASD keys to dodge incoming threats. Aim with your mouse cursor and press Left-Click to fire magical projectiles at the approaching beasts. While your basic magical attack is useful for clearing out the initial waves, its base damage is simply not enough to survive the full 5 minutes as the hordes grow stronger. To survive the final, chaotic minutes of the countdown, you must find and enlist the help of small, mystical creatures known as Timberimps. Discover these friendly creatures scattered throughout the woods during your run and recruit them into your team. Once recruited, these loyal Imps will follow you closely and automatically attack any monsters within their operational radius. If you move too far away while an Imp is engaged in combat, it will eventually break off its attack and rush back to your side, ensuring you are never left completely unprotected. The game round concludes in one of two ways: you successfully survive the full 5 minutes to claim victory, or your character takes too much damage and succumbs to the horrors of the Timberwoods.
