“CREEPLINGS” is a horror shortfilm in which the main character, Susan, is haunted by creepy creatures. Their origin remains a mystery, but their presence is permanent. The film was made using Unreal Engine 5.6. My biggest problems came with lighting, consistency, color grading, and anamorphic DOF for which I did not allocate enough time. Goals: - Create an uncanny, but still believable Metahuman creep that can be animated without issues. - Utilize anamorphic lenses with a 2.39:1 aspect ratio. - Use rain in Unreal. - Tell a story with a beginning and an end. - Experiment with unconventional camera composition and camera motion to enhance the storytelling. Credits: - Jakob Christensen: Concept, Camera, Keyframe Animation, MoCap Polish, Facial MoCap, FX, Lighting, Rendering, Compositing, Editing - Musical Score & Sound FX: Kilian Konz - Rain Droplets FX (not integrated yet due to technical difficulties, sorry!): Hannah Rampitsch - Rain Droplets Shading (same as above, sorry!): Fabian Holzer - Art Support: Chinmay Patil - Body MoCap Acting: Christof Ponweiser - Coaching: Josef Schinwald, Luiz Cruz - Environment: Scans Factory - Additional Animation: Mixamo - Special Thanks: Emily van Lieshout, Fabian Sonnleithner, Luis Vargas de la Rosa - Core tool: Unreal Engine 5.6 - Other tools: Easy Atmos/Fog/Rain/Toolbag, Houdini, Maya, Metahuman Animation Tool, Premiere Pro
