“CREEPLINGS” is a horror shortfilm in which the main character, Susan, is haunted by creepy creatures. Their origin remains a mystery, but their presence is permanent.
The film was made using Unreal Engine 5.6. My biggest problems came with lighting, consistency, color grading, and anamorphic DOF for which I did not allocate enough time.
Goals:
- Create an uncanny, but still believable Metahuman creep that can be animated without issues.
- Utilize anamorphic lenses with a 2.39:1 aspect ratio.
- Use rain in Unreal.
- Tell a story with a beginning and an end.
- Experiment with unconventional camera composition and camera motion to enhance the storytelling.
