Project
In 2016, in Bad Aibling in Bavaria, two trains crashed into each other causing 12 casualties, and many more were injured. A train dispatcher was busy with his phone when he caused three fatal errors: He wrongly allowed one train to drive onto a single rail section, then let the second train facing opposite drive on the same track AND finally finding out about his error and making an emergency call, but to the wrong trains. All these errors could have been avoided easily by just being careful and always having an eye on the network. And that's exactly the job you'll be doing in Train Track Traffic. This is a game about attention!
As a train dispatcher, you are confronted with the following tasks: Set switches correctly, so train passengers reach their station, and stop trains before they crash into each other by switching train signals to red/green. Additionally, you should watch the time as every minute late costs some points! We are not the Deutsche Bahn, so we care about punctuality! You think you are up to the task? Don't think it will be easy!
This game was made for my first game project ever designed by myself. It has been a long journey, involving my deepest "desire" of becoming a train driver one day. Trains are the best way of showing how crucial attention in some jobs is and how fatal errors can evolve. I hope to let every player feel this responsibility and giving their all to let everyone arrive on time and savely! After some changes during user testing, some of the issues players had playing my game were resolved. So this is a quick note that this is not the first version of the full game. I am still happy to get feedback!
