LIFE-LIKE
By Chris Tian Burg
The expression "lifelike" is used to describe motions and appearances of subjects that are quite close to their biological/organic counterparts.
In my project it illustrates the marriage of technology and organic matter, which takes shape in the android bearing a glass stomach which cradles a biological baby. It's a metaphor not only for modern technical development but also for our growing dependence on technology.
The character assets were sculpted in Maxon ZBrush, the textures were created in Adobe Substance 3D Painter, the project assembly and rendering was achieved in Autodesk Maya.
"LIFE-LIKE" is my love letter to the sci-fi genre: stories and characters that face challenges with/through technology. The TV-Series "Westworld" had the biggest influence on me during the creation process of this project.
