Story

At first glance, this lil'guy might seem like his hobbies include picking flowers and baking matcha cupcakes. However, things are not as they seem. This lil'guy's greatest passion is... killing lovely little animals and thriving on their blood.

Gameplay

He’s got a sword and can handle it really well. He can slash once or even perform a double slash combo. His sword skills let him slice through waves of enemies with style and pure joy. Killing an enemy gives you a point. Getting a multikill increases your multiplier, allowing you to build up huge combos. But be aware – our lil'guy is still mortal. Taking a hit resets your combo. After three hits, he’s had enough and needs to take a nap. You will be greeted with a final score that can be uploaded to an online leaderboard. Compete for the top spot and check the current rankings at www.tinyurl.com/playlilguy. Keep an eye out for the very rare special enemies – they will take your score to another level.

Making the Game

This entire game – code, art, animation, playtesting, sounds – was made by one person. The wonderful music was provided by my brother and musician Sebastian Schweiger (www.schweigersebi.com). The voices are performed by Saida Feitl. The game was developed in C# using SFML. That means everything had to be created from scratch – UI, buttons, animation system, scene system, gameobjects, and component system. My motivation was to create a game that focused on being replayable, satisfying, and complete, rather than having loads of content. The online leaderboard reached over 500 total entries after two weeks of release.
