Mano scooter

redesign of an e-scooter under consideration of circular economy aspects

Mano scooter is a modular and compact e-scooter designed for urban micro-mobility. The e-scooter features a simple folding mechanism and a special steering system that promotes driving pleasure. The product offers an environmentally friendly alternative to existing products in this segment and should impress with its long product life, low package, and functionality. Through a sustainably designed service system, the scooter can be rented by customers on a monthly basis. The service was designed to ensure that the customer takes care of processes such as recharging during the rental period. After its lifespan, the scooter is disassembled by the company itself. This ensures that all materials used, find their way back into their original cycles.

Design

The final design is inspired by the shapes of a hammerhead shark. Especially its head served as a template for the front axle and the front body, which connects to the axle and to which the wooden board is attached. In the top view, the torpedo shape of a shark was also adopted. The rest of the design language is inspired by racing bike frames.

Service System

Through a sustainable service system, Mano scooter can be rented on a monthly basis. The service was designed to ensure that the customer takes care during the rental period. A monthly rent cost 89,90€ with a minimum term of 3 months.
