The purpose of this industry project was twofold. On the one hand it was meant to give us some first or additional insights into what it is like to work in the industry from an HCI perspective. On the other hand it was meant to fulfil a brief set by an actual industry partner, in our case SKIDATA. Our project evolved around conceptualising a cashless future ticket vending machine. Throughout this report the different phases, ideas, challenges and successes of the project are described in detail, concluding in the final result and our individual reflections.
Key points of the project were narrowing down and defining the requirements from a very open brief by SKIDATA, overcoming challenges such as a very central change in said brief and coming together to form a very advanced and coherent final deliverable, which went beyond what was expected from us according to Andreas Heiss from SKIDATA. Finally we created a future ticket vending machine, where the process is split into a flexible configuring website and a stationary printing machine functioning as one.
